Question: Do I need insurance?
Answer: No but we recommend that you have appropriate cover for you and your bike.

Question: Are spare parts available?
Answer: Yes, for most common bikes at each feed station and from the Broom Wagon

Question: What happens if I get lost or get into difficulties on the day?
Answer: On the day you will be given a contact number for our ride control, who will help with any issues. In the rider manual we have identified areas of poor phone coverage and advised you on the nearest phone in these areas.

Question: How long do I have to complete the ride and what happens if I can’t complete the distance?
Answer: The finishing point of the ride will close at 6.30pm giving you at least nine hours to complete the route. There will be a SAG wagon to collect riders who can’t complete the ride due to mechanical failure or fatigue.

Question: Do I need to wear a cycle helmet?
Answer: You must wear a cycle helmet to take part.

Question: How old do I need to be to take part?
Answer: You must be at least 13 on the day of the event to take part; if you are 16 or under you must be accompanied by an adult.

Question: What facilities are available?
Answer: There will be toilets at the start, feed stations and finish. Your belongings/valuables should be locked in your car or carried with you. There are three feed stations. Drinks will also be available at the finish, and a bag drop will be available

Question: What time does it start?
Answer: Registration will start at 7.00am and close at 10.00am. Riders will be able to start as soon as they have registered.

Is this a closed road event?
No, but the ride will start and finish on closed roads within Cheltenham racecourse.

Refund Policy
Refunds will only be given in the event that the Rise Above Sportive is cancelled.
